I am very frustrated and need some help here. My son has a very unhealthy lumbar spine. He has had two discectomies one at 23 and one again at 28. Now he has a buldge at L-3-4 that apparently has caused a hematomoa that is pressing against his spinal cord and causing motor and sensory problems. He has been told that injections I'm assuming epidurals will help the hemotoma to reabsorb? This sounds crazy to me as a blood clot I would not think is affected by a steriod injection that works on inflammation. Unless they are saying that reducing the disc bulge will help the hematoma resolve. Anyone out there with any advice? They also have put him off for the injections until this Friday. It is Tuesday now and this problem has been there since last Thursday!!!!! I am beyong upset by this and could use some support.

  • i'm new to this web site and came here looking for support for myself. Can't imagine how hard it is when it's your child. But it sounds like you need to ask more questions. I was a nurse and i don't have any experience with your sons exact condition. i know the squeaky wheel gets the oil with doctors. to them this is an everyday thing and they tend to forget it's not for the patients. if that doesnt' give you anwers theres always a second opinion. Good luck and God BLess you both!
