I am so frustrated with my pain clinic, so frustrated on Wednesday I have an appt with another doc. I was taking 4 10/500 hydrocodone's a day and on the last visit she said "that is too much, we're taking you to one a day". Excuse me, I have about 7 left and you want to drop me to 1 a day?
I'm all for trying to decrease but after a year on hydrocodone, I think it is unschionable (sp?) for a doc to leave you hanging like that for the simple fact of detox from the 4 a day.
And I'd love it if ONE a day would help, but my pain doesn't work with what she wants me to take. I think a pain clinic should be working with what you're pain level is, not what they "want" you to be on.
I do see the original male doctor that I saw for the first two months on Wednesday. It's the same day I have the appt with the other clinic. If he is willing to work with me, I will stay but I want to explain my frustrations.
And I'm also frustrated with my PCP of 15 years. He gave me a 90 day script of 1mg of xanax 3x and abilify. I lost this script and he won't refill. I feel that as a 15 year patient who has NEVER asked for a redo of a lost script, he should be more willing to work with me. And Abilify, the anti-depressant "pusher", what on earth would be wrong with redoing the script for that?
I think I'm going to fax them a letter about my disappointment. :-((((( I'm not going to threaten to break our relationship as he probably won't care, but also because he's behind me in trying to get SSD and now is not the time to go to a new doc.
