I am a weight training, some biking and walking person with sciatica newly diagnosed who has to re-arrange my lower body work out.
I am doing some recommended stretches and am wondering if I will be able to return to standard lower body weight/strength training exercises. I do not 'power lift', but I don't feel that doing these machines are going to work on my leg while it's still numb or experiencing some pain.
I am rather afraid of bringing on an attack and I am watching what I do to see what it could be that aggravates it. I am finding that walking beyond a certain distance seems to bring on some discomfort.
I am going on the word that sciatica will improve and so expect to maybe change gyms so that I can add aquatics for the lower half of me.
Any exercise suggestions? I guess that hiking trip is out. . .
