Nerve regeneration

Can anyone tell me what nerve regeneration feels like? Could you be buzzing, tingling, burning, numbness? How do you know if it is damage vs. regeneration? Ever since my surgery, I have had all of this in the left leg. It comes and goes, and also have muscle tightness. It can disappear, and then come back. My surgery, a Lami and Foramintomy at L5 S1 was 16 weeks ago. The Foramintomy was at S1 only. Lami at L5, and S1. Severe compression. Thank you. Sweetpotatoe57

  • I cannt tell wich it is but after my l5s1 micro due to severe rupture and compresion of spinal cord and left siatic, with severe foot drop.I had like a severe burning and the doc said it was the nerves waking up, I have had worries at times cause it seems to flare up but for me after a flare up it seems to get to a better stage of less tingling. Im 6 months post op and feel great but i do still have tingling in my toes especialy big toe but no further weakness or other symptoms that would cause me fuether concern. sometimes my big toe will burn like crazzy and if i streatch hamstring and stuff it seems to get better. But i have asked my self what you are asking is it part of the healing or did i reherniate. Well doc did tell me tingling may never go away so i can deal but does cause some anxiety when it flarers up. I hope someone can answer your question. Best of luck
