On the morning of Monday, May 11th, I awoke with a numb, tingling sensation in my feet, accompanied by a strange, constant twitching of my calf muscles; a mild cramp could be felt in the lower right one. When I finally climbed out of bed, I felt the tingling sensation throughout my entire self (except in my face, of course), and my first thought was that I might have overdone it at the fitness center over the weekend.

However, it occurred to me then that I had felt completely normal on Sunday-following my intense upper-body workout on Saturday-and that whatever I was experiencing when I awoke was a delayed reaction, which has continued throughout today.

So, I would like to know if anyone out there can confirm if my condition is sciatica related or if it is perhaps the onset of something more serious such as A.L.S.? I've done a little research on both and some of the symptoms I'm experiencing are eerily similar to the latter.

If not, what could I do in the interim (outside of seeing a doctor) to alleviate the uncomfortable twitching/tingling sensation?

Thanks in advance for any advice you all can lend!

  • Vincent,
GO SEE A DOCTOR TODAY!!!!. Make sure to tell them “I felt the tingling sensation throughout my entire self”. You need an MRI right now to figure out what is going on. If you do have a herniated disk pushing up against your spinal column and you start having pain when you use the bathroom, you are straight off to surgery in the ER. You do not want that.
Have someone take you to the doctor. Don't drive yourself.
