Hi I m Yagoda,

I m 43 years old and work in a high fashion retail industry. I m on my feet 9 hours a day.

I had 5 epidurals done 2 years ago. It helped but I never felt a 100%.

About 2 months ago my feet and legs stared to heart very badly, I had all the symptoms numbness, burning, unconditional bad pain, my feet felt cold and like they wore a sleep. I could n sleep and work.

I went to see Foot & Ankle Specialist. He did some injections to stop the pain, he told me that I m suffering from Metatasalgia, and had performed some tests. I was told to stay off from work for few day and then to fallow up.

On 04-09-09 I had returned to see Dr. He had treated me again to stop the pain performed more testing.
I come back again to see him on 04-24-09 again in pain, he told me about the results.
I m treated for Lumbosacral Radiculopathy Symptomatic Neuroma and that may required future surgery of my both feet.

On 04-30-09 I went back to see Dr. again. This time he had send me to see Physical Medicine. I was sending again for MRI for my spine and was diagnose that I have Lumber Radiculitis, Mild Disc Desication at L4 L5. Focal Annual Tear in right L4-L5 foraminal and extra foraminal region, which abuts the exiting right L4 nerve root.In 2 weeks I have had two epidural procedures done again.

Thank god, I m feeling better and maybe will be going back to work next week. I hope it will last?

But I would like to know? What to expect from this, will I be able to be like I was before that? Will I be able to ware a high hills shoe again? :/ :S /:) :?

  • May not be a good idea. Sometimes epidurals are used as diagnostic procedure to confirm where the pain is coming from. I have only received temporary relief from epidurals but it did help to pinpoint exactly where my pain was coming from. Have you seen a Pain Management Specialist yet? That is the type of doc that I have had the most success with. Good luck and please keep us posted.
  • I have had a numb and painful foot since the first back surgery on L5/S1. I went to a Foot and Ankle Surgeon too and he put me on lots of medications for nerve pain. He then told me about cutting edge technology being done in saving diabetic's feet. I am not a diabetic so almost didn't go further.
In the end I had Peripheral Nerve surgery which restored the use of my toes after two years of not working. It was miraculous. I had compressed nerves in my leg that were released to allow them to "flow" freely afterwards.
I just am letting you know there are things to do that aren't necessarily known about on here that may help.
