Hey everyone its been a while since ive posted. Ive been with the same doc for about 5 months now. I am doing ok i am on 50mch fentanyl patches i get 10 a month. I am still in a little pain but i can handle most of it. Only thing i can complain about is having trouble sleeping and a lot of breakthrough pain i havent talked to my doctor about it yet. Any suggestions, ive been controlling the sleep with a little bit of alchohal a night but i tend to just get the 4 hours a night, and help would be greatly appreciated :).

  • Welcome back! I just recently came back too. I was gone for many months like you. I don't know much about your situation so its hard to give advice. I do know that you should not mix alcohol and fentanyl. That can be a deadly combo. I take lunesta to help me sleep though sometimes it doesn't work as well as I would like, it's better then nothing. Good luck to you.
  • Thank you.. Well to fill you in a have a rare case degenerate joint disease, osteolcondrosis, shurhmans disease, spinal stenosis, i herniated disc, 4 bulged discs, 1 pinch nerve and a lot of pain. But i am doing a lot better than i was so being 20 years old and being like this works out ok.
  • I am pretty new here so nice to meet you! I also have sleeping problems due to chronic pain, Fybromyalia, OA, and a host of others along with 5 back surgeries. My doctors have me on Zanaflex and Ambien. It seems to do fairly well. Sometimes I still wake up due to pain, but can go back to sleep most of the time. Maybe you can talk to your doctors about that? I hope maybe that can be helpful, just a sugesstion! :?

    Good Luck, Debbie!

  • Im not trying to be pushy..but Please be careful. Mixing alcohol and opiates is a bad idea because of respiratory depression. :T
