For those who don't know me (old name "jusserfinn"), L5-S1 TLIF with instrumentation and BMP, Laminectomy, and discectomy all on Jan. 13, 2009. I have had a rough recovery like many of you.
Pre-surgery and up to about a few weeks ago, my comfort was greater when I leaned forward, but that's changed to just the opposite, and I have a lot of pain in my pelvis as well as to the left and RIGHT (pre was only left side) of the center of my spine when I lean forward (add this to when I stand too long, sit too long, etc). When I sit I also get numbess on the outside of my left "cheek", and my numbness in my toes on the left side has returned.
On Saturday, sitting watching my daughters school play, I noticed numbness on the outside of my right knee, just bove the bend. This is something totally new, and since I noticed it, it has not gotten better. I have not gotten a response from the surgeon, (as I didn't expect), so I am reaching out here... I am really hoping this new numbness is NOT connected to my back, but from what I've read, it's highly possible.
My hope is that it could be from inflammation. Anyone experience this kind of numbness?
