I have been reading through the forums trying to self-diagnose. Just got my MRI back today and am comparing it to the last one to see if I am getting older or getting worse. I have shooting nerve pain and numbness in the thumb and first finger. Thanks.

  • Welcome to the forum my dear! :H

What did your doctor say about it?? Maybe someone in this forum has the same problem and they can relate. Good luck.

  • Hello, and welcome to the forum. I have found alot of useful information and I am sure you will as well. As for your MRI, what part of the body was it for? Your nerve pain in your thumb and fore finger could be caused by the discs in your neck. I have some DDD in my neck that occasionally causes my fingers on my right hand to go numb. You might want to ask your doctor aboout an EMG test, which will help to diagnose what and where the pain is from.

    Good luck!!
