disc desiccation-left leg pain

AnonymousUserAAnonymousUser Posts: 49,671
Halo every1..i'm a 44 yrs old female.Four months back i started having pain in my left leg and left knee. As time went,it got severed and at times i cudn move my leg.I consulted an ortho and took a MRI. MRI of the lumbar spine shows early spondylotic changes and disc desiccation. Inter-vertebral discs shows changes of desiccation. Thr is disc bulge with left lateral protrusion at L4-L5 level. There is narrowing of left lateral recess/neural foramen and compression of exiting left nerve root at the foraminal level due to left lateral L4-L5 disc protrusion. I've taken traction and i'm not experiencing pain for nearly twenty days now in the left leg but thr s pain in my left knee sometimes.I'm also feeling very tired. Can yo plz let me know what will be the next stages of this and what all steps should I follow to be pain-free???

  • my name is pete . i'm a sufferer like yourself. not a dr.
sorry you are still having pain. however it's wonderful that you have improved.
the fact that therapy helps tells me you should keep it up.
I have read that knee pain usually is caused by problems with L3. I noticed in your report no mention of L3. could you double check to see if it was mentioned. if it was did they mention the foramin or did they mention disks?
oh by the way you said you were tired. what meds if any are you on?
    glad you are improving....pete
