I went to the night clinic last week and the doctor gave me a script for therapy on my thoracic spine. When i went to therapy they made my assessment for this tues. but i the night before last i was doing my exercises at home and i noticed that whenever i did my leg weights my legs would get sore and hurt, but only on the sides of my hips and legs and my knees really hurt.It doesn't matter how heavy i make my leg weights my thigh muscles never seem to react, they don't hurt, get sore ,they just feel tired. I used a safety pin and started touching my legs from top to bottom to see what happens.my hips and thigh muscles were completely numb i couldn't feel the pin at all no matter how hard i pushed. So when i went to therapy yesterday i took the pin with me and showed my therapist. You should have seen his face,he told me to be careful that i don't puncture my leg and thats when it happened the pin went through and i didn't feel it at all,i was totally shocked. He asked me when i see my doc. again and i told him that i called for an apt. and got it for July 7th,he said that was too far away and spent half the time i was there trying to get through to my doctor. He finally left it to his secretary to keep calling, she finally got through and he talked to her secretary and she told him that the doc. was totally booked and if i wanted to call next wed. she might be able to get me in if someone cancels. So my therapist told me if i start to get worse over the weekend to go to the hospital not to wait to see my doctor. He told me that the disc is pushing on my nerves pretty hard and that i need to get an mri done soon.
Ya good luck with that if i can't even get into my doctor the mri isn't going to happen.

  • I'm sorry to hear that you have more problems on your plate. Don't we have enough to deal with? I hope that you get in soon to see the doc and there are some solutions for you.

You're a strong woman but if you need a shoulder to lean on you know I'm here for you. Please let us know as soon as you hear something. You'll be in my thoughts.

  • I have the same issue with doctors, I've been waiting over a month for my EMG and tried to move the appointment up because of the pain, and I can't. Mind you the EMG is necessary before I get my MRI which is needed before I see a specialist.

People say the drawback to public healthcare is waiting, how is it different?
  • Isn't it so frustrating having to wait so long to see doctors and have tests done especially when you know that the longer you wait the worse the outcome may be.
