I had Laimenectomy with fusion ,L-4 to Sacrum with metal fixations,in 2006.
It feels like my hardware may be a little loose.
Two rods with six screws,my neuro surg says there's no evidence of a bony fusion, seeing PM for the moment.

  • Hello Spinal!

Have you asked your surgeon? It's practically impossible for screws to become loose, but having been so long ago, you would think they would get an MRI or something. 3 years is a long time for no fusion, and all you mention is that it feels like your hardware may be loose, have you been having any pain?

I had screws in my foot after a bunionectomy and osteotomy and had constant pain for over a year. I finally went back to my surgeon and they xrayed it and he told me I had a screw loose...I told him he wasn't the first to tell me that!! Anyway, he removed the screw and it feels so much better.
