DDD at 27? is this possible? Please Help!

has anyone heard of some this young having this disease? I also have a thryoid disease and was woundering if maybe that might have something to do with it. I was just diagnosed with x rays and see the neurosurgen on monday. The last thing in the world I want is surgery on my back. The problem I have is that I am so young that most doctors dont want to perscribe pain medication. Also I have noticed problem with doctors because I like to wear tye die t-shirts. So most doctors think I am just looking for pain medication. Any opinions on what I should do would help me alot. I am scared. I have alot of health problems and now this on top of it. I have DDD in all levels of my back except L4/L5 and L5/S1. Right pars defect at L2 and sparing at L4/L5 and L5/S1. Can anyone put all of this in plan english please. Ant info would be greatful. Thanks
