I posted before that my revision ACDF with fusion using BMP was Thursday ( with cage, plate and screws). Three days out of surgery, I felt pretty good. Numbness and tingling gone out of arm and leg area imediately upon waking up. Had a pretty bad sore throat with difficulty swallowing. Today, I am having some pretty severe dizzy spells and terrible trouble swallowing. EVERY time i swallow, it sticks and I have to take a drink or two just to get one bite down (other than jello) this happens with everything I swallow and I am trying to eat squishy stuff. The dizziness happens almost every time I get up or sit down and occasionally even while sitting down. Has anyone else had this happen? I have had two previous surgeries and the pain/numbness never went away until this 3rd one, but I only had a mild sore throat on the first two with mild swallowing difficulty. This time it seems the swallowing and dizziness are my worst problems. I guess I should be grateful if this is as bad as its gonna get. I guess Im wondering if the swelling in my throat should be getting worse 4 days out or starting to get better. I cant find much info on BMP fusions other than they can cause alot of swelling but why would it take this long to start causing major issues? The dizziness I dont understand at all as I didnt have any with the first two surgeries. Can anyone tell me if they had dizziness after an ACDF surgery? If so, how long did it last before it started to subside? I hate the nausea that comes with the dizziness. Also, was told by both surgeons NO IBUPROFEN products for at least 6 weeks and until further notic. They said ibuprofen products interfere with the BMP healing process. I didnt know this until being released from the hospital. What else is available for the swelling and inflammation? Thanks in advance for any information.
