Lyrica and sciatica

Just started Lyrica for lancinating sciatica- 15mm (anteriror-posterior left l5-s1 disc herniation-microdiscectomy-month ago then large same site recurrent herniation with repeat microdiscectomy 11 days ago. S1 nerve root flattened and compressed on both MRI's)

Experiences with lyrica and sciatica-how long did it take to work? Relief with lower dose ?(I'm on 150mg/day and prefer to stay with lowest effective dose to minimize side effects). Did any side effects improve with time (how long)? I posted in the surgery forum because I want to hear from those with serious compressed nerve sciatica since more minor sciatica is almost as common as a nonspecific complaint of back pain. Thanks for any responses. I hope to hear about your experiences with Lyrica.
