Cervical subluxation with nerve pain
Hello. I've just been diagnosed with a subluxation of C4 over C5 with disk space narrowing at C4-C5. I've been having neck pain for a few years with muscle pain, stiffness, and nerve pain radiating down just to the right side of my spine to the level of my shoulder blade. I don't have any problems with pain traveling down my right arm, but I did notice that I'm a bit weaker in my hand grip and ability to do an upward shrug when I tried to open a bottle of wine. My doctor has prescribed physical therapy which only offers relief for maybe 2 hours after my manual treatments. Unfortunately, because of my younger age (32), I can't seem to find a doctor or physical therapist to take my pain seriously. They always say that I'm "too young to have anything severe," and "everybody has problems with their spine." It's frustrating because the pain can get so severe that it wakes me up at night. Doing a head tilt (ear to shoulder) is nearly impossible because of the sharp jolt of pain that I feel shooting down to my shoulder blade area. End ranges of motion from chin to chest, tilting my head back, or turning to either side also results in pain. Does anybody else have anything similar? If so, what kinds of treatment are you receiving? I don't know what else to do and the pain is just unbearable. Thank you very much for your time and any information you can offer.
