Hi, Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with cervical spondylosis. I am currently suffering from my second "episode" of it. What treatments may have(or did not) worked. I have another appt. with my neurologist in the morning. Any input would be appreciated, thanks, Jill

  • i can relate as i have similar problems. if i get a flare up in my neck i find a couple of days of rest is the only effective treatment.
    i know how you feel...
  • supposedly when i had my operation alot of arthritis was taken out but i find i still have flares when the weather is bad.i use ice and heat and try to stay laying down without pressure on my neck.it is very painful absolutely. when my therapist was trying to help push back the herniated discs i could here alot of crunching and grinding in my neck and i asked him the one time why it was doing that and he said that it was all the arthritis in there.
  • Hi Jill -
I was diagnosed with cervical spondylosis with myleopathy - bone spurs were putting pressure on my spinal cord, so I had a 3 level acdf surgery done on July 31.I'm two weeks post op and all my pain in my left arm, shoulder and hand are gone but there's still some numbness.

My neurosurgeon did caution me that my other discs may become damamged due to the pressure put on them from the screws and plate. I'm crossing my fingers that my other discs do not degenerage and I won't have to have further surgeries.
