I had my spinal fusion in 2007.Tried yoga again last week, and did too much activity and am now in pain all day-have used ice once or twice.I forget what to do.Calling my surgeon is a no go-primary care doctor knows nothing-sugustions without meds-do I try to walk-then use ice and try to sit as little as possible or just press the bed for a day. This has been going on for 2 days and I am growing weary. I know everyone has different pain experiences-I just forget the basics as have not experienced this much pain in a while. How can I use my laptop while reclining?

  • Sorry to hear you are in pain. I did the same thing recently after several "good" months. The advice my PT always gives me is don't stay in the same position for too long. Walking usually helps get things moving again. Ice certainly helped me this last flare up but if you have aching muscles, heat can also be a friend. I am not a doctor, but staying in bed for me seems to make things worse as all the muscles freeze up. And sitting for any length of time bothers me on the good days as well.

Hope you can find your perfect mix for getting over this bad patch very soon. Take care, Jaycey
  • Yesterday, I order a lap top table/tray on line from "Harriet Carter". The back can be positioned higher than the front so that you can use it while in bed.

  • Walgreens has a good one, about 20 -25 bucks. Kind of like a hospital tray and it has a ledge to hold laptop and you can move it to work in bed or chair etc. I suggest that you do walks, just dont over do. Advil for inflammation, heat can help. I am no expert, just trying to help. Hope you feel better.
