L4/L5 Herniation

AWhelan65AAWhelan65 Posts: 6

I have a 5mm herniation at the left side of L4/L5. This area was operated on via microdisectomy successfully 7 years ago. I re-herniated the disc recently due to some personal stupidity.

Another surgeon is now recommending either another microdiscectomy or a laminectomy. I really do not want to have surgery again especially at my already repaired due to scar tissue etc.

My pain had been hanging out at about 4/10 until recently when it shot to about 8/10. This was right after a steroid injection.

- can a 5mm herniation be brought back into place via PT?
- has anyone tried spinal decompression and did it work?

Thanks for your assistance.
