Wonder if anyone can help me here. I have had back pain for over 4 years now. I never knew the cause have always been slim, fit well and active and one day I woke up after having a tummy bug for a couple of days and couldn't walk. I carried on as best I could and was in agony for weeks, barely able to take more thana few steps without having to stretch out in order to continue. Gradually the pain lessened after about 6 months to a constant dull ache. I was 25 at the time, and was offered pysiotherapy, and advised to take paracetamol and ibropufen. I have had 2 babies since, and my pain was not so bad during my pregs or for the first 2 or 3 months after, but other than that it has been constant, with peaks and lows. It's bearable during the day, I am used to it, and being active with 2 small babies takes my mind off it, and I am pretty used to it know. SLeeping is more of a problem as my pain is much worse when I sit or especially lie down, so I take some paid med for this.
I have finally been offered an MRI and am waiting to see a spinal surgeon. I am a bit scared, but am so relived to see that there is a probable cause for my back pain. My phsio says that I will be offered steroid inj or surgery, but I dont know what to expect.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated - also, please can someone point me in the right direction as to which board I should be on.
