Hi to all... It's been awhile since I last posted. I did not get the hardware removal as suggested by my Ortho doc. I chose to keep it in. With all the pain I had with the surgery, no way was I going thru that although I've heard it's not as bad. No way. I'm on Skelaxin 800 mg 2 a day... works great for the muscle spasms. I take Vicodin 7.5/ 500 also and that works. I've been able to go whole days without taking any pain meds. I've done some walking but found out that I just can't walk for any length of time. So, I bought a bike and my husband got one too. This is great! For anyone who's had this surgery and wants some exercise I can tell you just what bike I bought. It's terrific. Great seat cushioning. We rode 3 miles the first day and then 2 days later 6 1/2 miles. I did feel that one. Major spasms. So, I had a pneumatic type attachment added to my bike seat. I never thought I would be feeling better and although I have bad days, I can at least lessen the pain with the muscle relaxers and pain meds. I would not have the surgery again if I had the offer.
One thing I did notice and my doctor noticed is that my right leg is atrophied. He says it will build up some with the biking. With my new bike I can ride easily without alot of effort. What a joy.
I had a CT scan of my back done and they now say that L2-3 is bad. I'm not doing anything.
I've taken a few spills since my surgery and so far everything is still in place.
