Hello everyone, Im 21/M/5'7'' 120lbs, I've raced dirtbikes most of my life untill recently on 1/1/09 I crashed and landed on my butt/back, my lower back has never been the same since that crash. I've reinjured it a few times bending down and lifting things since the crash and now its getting really painfull.
Heres my MRI report I got done a month ago on 8/18/09
Technique: A standard lumbar spine MRI protocol was performed.
Findings: Distal cord and cauda equina appear normal. The spinal canal capacious without significant central canal narrowing.
T11-12 thru L4-5: Discs are normal in height, hydration and shape.
L5-S1: There is disc desiccation, decreased disc height as well as a generalized posterior disc bulge with a central protrusion. The protrusion effaces epidural fat centrally, but causes no significant narrowing of the subarachnoid space. Gerneralized disc bulge causes only mild neural foraminal narrowing with the traversing sacral roots come in close proximity to disc material.
SUMMARY: THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ABNORMALITY APPREARS TO BE AT THE L5-S1 LEVEL WHERE THERE IS A CENTRAL DISC PROTRUSION WHICH EFFACES EPIDURAL FAT, BUT CAUSES NO SIGNIFICANT COMPRESSION OF THE SUBARACHNOID SPACE. DISC MATERIAL COMES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE TRAVERSING S1 ROOTS. MILD NARROWING OF THE L5 NEURAL FORAMINA.
Ive been going to PT for the past 2 months and was doing alot better but im still in alot of pain at times.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, for now ill start browsing the site/forums.
