Scheduled to get RFA--and I'm terrified!

Ok--So now that the three injections that I've gotten so far this summer haven't worked I've been scheduled for an RFA of my C5/6 and C6/7 facet joints. From what I've read it doesn't sound pretty. I'm 31 years old...I've been out of work since May...I'm married with two litle girls (six and three). I'm really nervous that this too is not going to work. Help me out people. I need to hear some good things about this procedure!

  • Many people have gotten good relief from RFA. I have had mixed results myself. I have had ablations that provide only short term relief, ablations that provided longer relief and ablations that did nothing. Mine have all been between C2, C3 and branches of the lesser and greater Occipital nerves.

Think positive. There's only one real way to find out if it's going to work for you, and that's to have it done. Write down your questions and concerns and get your doc to address them, it may help.
