  • Welcome Nick Oh my yes!! It has gotten chilly here in NC and my neck is killing me. I had a four level fusion 12/08 and can not take any kind of cold or dampness.
  • Oh boy does it ever. The weather and I can't even put an ice pack on my neck anymore!!!

really cause the pain or initiate it ..... In my case it makes the pain even more "painful" - worse. Changes in barometric preasure also .... I know hours before it is going to rain.

    Good Luck,

  • Fortunatley I don't feel any pain when it gets cold.

However, in a very strange way the muscles in my arms and chest get very tight when I get cold.

I say it's strange because my family and I can be (for example) sitting around and watching tv. Everyone will comment hold cold the house is and will put on sweaters or sweatshirts, but I'll say I'm comfortable and not feel the least bit cold.

Then, all of a sudden as if someone turned on a switch, out of nowhere I'm freezing and my arms feel like they're seizing up and I get a tightness right across my chest.

It doesn't hurt, but it is a strange feeling. Does this sort of thing happen to anyone else?
  • pm doc even validated the statement that cold makes pain worse.(not that i needed validation)yeah i find i wear scarves and upturned collars on my jackets to keep my neck from getting cold as well.i always wonder if the metal has anything to do with it. probable not, even artthritic ppl get more pain when it is cold. good luck!!
