Hi All,

I just got my MRI results and the conclusion was below.

"Left posterior pre-foraminal disk protrusion measures 4mm in depth and 7mm in transverse dimension, slightly indenting the left ventral surface of the spinal cord. there is preserved CSF along the dorsal surface of the cord. The AP sac diameter is norrowed to 8.5 mm left lateral. The neural formania are patent. The facets are unremarkable"

I am unable to make out anything out of this...am I in a worst situation?, any help is appreciated.

thanks in advance

  • Hi Citizen and welcome to spine-health. Have a look around and you will gain a wealth of knowledge.

As far as reading MRI's we refrain from doing that. Best that be left to the professionals. When do you return to the doctor who ordered the MRI? What kind of symptoms are you having? Where you injured or just kind of wake up one day and had pain? Here is a link to the a video with the anatomy of the spine. Great place to start. You can also use the search feature at the top of the page and put in neck pain and it will lead to a hoist of issues. Some key words you might want to look up are cervical spinal stenosis. It will take you to some wonderful lengths.

Anyway just wanted to stop by and welcome you to spine-health. Take care and look forward to reading more of your post.
