I need help. L1-L2 Disk Tear, Surgery Options?

I hurt my back about 2 years ago. It took a year and a half before a neurologist found that i have a torn disk between L1-L2. I have tried every conservative treatment-physical therepy, shots that doctors could come up with. Im being told the only option i have is to fuse the vertebrae and that only has a 50% chance of relieving 60% of my pain. I ask about a disk replacement and was told that it couldn't be done in between the L1 and L2. I have found a few articles where the disk replacement has been done inbetween those disk. I really dont want a fusion but i can stay on pain meds forever. Has anybody heard of disk replacement for L1-L2? Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.
