i have a hierniated c-7 disk and am having fusion surgery how bad is the pain in both the neck and hip(where the bone comes from) and for how long

  • I just had a 2 level neck fusion done on C-5 C-6. My NS did a wonderfull job as its been 8 days post opp and I am now sleeping a full 8 hours and I have found no longer need to take the oxys my doctor prescribed for me. I did talk to my NS before surgery regarding the use of my own bone for transplant but he showed me the fusion %s were not better enough to warrant the extra pain I would have if I did so. your case could be different then mine but that's something you need to talk to your own NS about. all I can say is in MY case I am glad I used donor bone. Good luck to you in whatever you and your doctor decide!
