Just got off the phone with my surgeon's nurse. Set the date for my disc-herniation-removal surgery. (Can't remember the "official" name!)
So I'm going Dec 10th. I have to be there at 6:15 am - I think I'm the first scheduled surgery for the day. I'm allergic to Laytex, so I guess they have to do special set up for that.
Also, the nurse said that they can't garauntee the surgery won't be cancelled! With all the H1N1 stuff, if there's a bed shortage or something, they may cancel all surgeries.
I'm a lot more nervous about this than I thought I would be. I've tried everything to deal with my pain, and the numbness and weakness and pain in my leg has come back and is really bad right now. So I want to do this, I'm just nervous.
I've got a little over a month to wait so I have to try not to get obsessed with this, and stay positive. I'm going to get some of the things mentioned on the pre-op must have list - like satin sheets or PJs!
How have others dealt with this kind of stress? :SS
