I have herniations/bulging C6-T1 and one of my primary symptoms right now is an intense burning through my shoulder & upper arm..anyone else have this pattern?
I see the surgeon on Tuesday...

could be related to thoracic disc problems. Though most of the time, the thoracic discs will cause that pain in the middle of the shoulders. A lot depends on what Tdiscs are having problems

  • They told me C6-7 is the worst. I was scheduled to have an ACDF 5 years ago and chickend out, but the pain pattern is slightly different this time :/ .
I still have the tingling & weakness down my left arm but it is the burning shoulder that drives me crazy. I have to position my arm just so to get relief.

I am hoping this guy will go ahead & schedule the surgery :) .
  • My MRI shows herniation at t1/t2 pressing on nerve root t1. Pain is mostly shoulder, collarbone and top outside of arm.

I'm scheduled with a neurosurgeon this wed. Hopefully he will recognize these symptoms and be able to provide relief not just the masking by meds that I have had so far.\

Please let me know what you find out. THere seems to be very little info about the top of the thoracic spine. Most of what I can find is that once you get into the thoracic discs they don't operate because it is very difficult. Hopefully yours is high enough to be easier.
  • I had aching and major burning in my shoulder , bicep, tricep, and forearm. I had ACDF surgery C5-C6 and all is relieved. :)
  • not in my shoulder but in my legs hip/groin area
