Is there a difference in pharmacies with giving out certain drugs?

I know there should not be, but..... :?

I have been getting my meds at 1 place for a long while.

Last week they were out of a needed med for me and was not getting it in until this Tuesday ( tomorrow ).

So I took my script to a different drug store and they told me my insurance only allowed 60 of the 100 pills I was prescribed. I asked if my insurance had changed things recently and was told "no".

I had been getting this same med, same amount, same strength and full 100 pills forever at my normal drug store :??
L1 - S2 "gone" useless in 1 way or another. DDD. RA. Bone Spurs. Tons of nerve damage/issues. Stenosis. Both knees replaced. 50 yrs old. I had a great fall (hence my user name) at age 41 and it has been a domino effect every since.
