Hey everyone. tomorrow's the day for me.

Obviously I have a lot of questions for him. Did anyone have leg numbness and aching after neck surgery????? This wasn't an issue I had before.

Today was one of my better days by far...I actually got to do some walking...in my house circling the kitchen, dining room and living room but it ws good!

But I every other night I have to switch sides of the bed because typically I sleep on my left side but since the surgery...that leg, from the hip down gets achy and kinda numb.

Anyone else have this experience??? This was definitely not a pre-op issue!

I'll post more tomorrow after my doctor's visit. I'm really looking forward to it!

In great expectation.....
Yvonne ;)

  • so, my wonderful doctor says all of this is normal. Its early days yet in recovery and the bone has not even begun to fuse. tear tear.

After telling him that I haven't slept apart this long from my husband since he was in Iraq, the doctor turns and tells me "well...I guess you'll be ready for him in 8 weeks won't you". That was exactly what stopped me from crying...because I was about to lose it. No driving for another 8 weeks, no housework, no lifting for another 8 weeks. It wouldn't matter if I lived alone but my husband is working at his day job that gives us insurance and is building his contracting/heating business. that's doing OK. Lots of folks wait until its freezing to get regular maintenance on their boilers.

blah blah blah....I'm hurting and disappointed. Oh well....tomorrow's another day.
  • I know we had different types of surgeries but I am having leg/foot nerve pain post-op that I never had before surgery. It's not numb, but I think numbness is usually nerve related as well. You should ask your pain management doctor about Metanx. I think it's really helping me.

If you are waking up more than once during the night, maybe you need a sleep aid prescribed. Right now I take Flexeril when I wake up because I know it's from muscle spasms. I try to sleep on my back but I've been waking up on my side which scares me, I hope i don't twist too much.

Ok I'm just babbling at this point. I wrote you back in the other thread too :D Hope you are able to get a good nights sleep tonight.
