Last month I had a CT mylogram. I wound up with an even more severe headache and back pain. After several visits to the ER, they performed a blood patch. Almost immediately, the severe pain was relieved. However, ever since I have had a headache and trouble focusing. Has this happened to anyone? I dont have an appointment with the doctor for several more weeks. Should I be concerned? I tried sinus medication and it didnt help at all.

  • Why don't you return to the same ER you may need a CT or other tests to make sure everything's alright especially if the focus problem is new. Did the Dr. mention there would be a residual headache or anything afterwards? I would get it checked out. I had dizziness before and went to the ER and had a CT and felt relieved everything was alright for me but think you should get checked out. Take care. Charry

  • a friend just had a baby and they botched the epidural so she ended up needing a blood patch....still had the headache and they told her to drink coffee. you can ask a good homeopath for a remedy.
  • Wow, I would be more inclined to contact the doc's office first thing in the AM and let them know what's up. With everything you've been through, no need to try and tough it out. I don't know how many days it's been since the blood patch was done, but you should be feeling a lot better and the problem with focusing is a concern. Any fever or chills at the moment?

  • I have had this headache from hades from the same test. This happens more often than the doctors want to admit on myelogram tests.

I went into the same hospital ER where they did the myelogram. 3 days later, with that horrible headache. They scooted me in asap and did a blood patch. 2 doctors to do it. They told me that there was a chance that it might not take a full set. If I was still have bad headaches then I should go back and they would do a 2nd blood patch.
