Hoping for referrals for 2nd opinions on where to go from here.

T6 & T7 herniated disks, with significant cord compression. From what we have been told, they can only enter from the front and no one wants to touch it for fear of paralyzation. Pain is becoming unmanageable and need to seek further treatment.

I would appreciation any referrals on where I can send my MRI/file for review.

  • I am in your same situation. Do you feel like your chest is being crushed and you can not breathe? Do you feel major chest pain? I have these and more symptoms and no one wants to help you in this situation.Oh Lord help us find the answers so we can be relieved of this horrific pain.

I hope you find the help you need precious one. I am with you and walking through it right now as well.

  • I have a fractured T12 vertebra, and I'm looking for some answers. I don't know if Kyphoplasty will work since they have let it go for 2 months. I'm on a workers comp. Federal. I feel like my back has pushed everything to my front and am in constant pain. Is the surgery really that difficult if it's only one vertebra.
  • I would think this is your best chance at getting surgical help. What you have requires about three major surgeries and they aren't pretty ones. Imagine heart surgery, lung surgery and back surgery all at the same time.

I would look to a teaching hospital in a major city or university. THis is probably the only place that is even equipped to do this type of surgery.
  • Thoracic surgery is a surgical specialty which is focused on procedures involving the chest, more formally known as the thorax. Thoracic Surgeons have the knowledge, experience and technical skills to accurately diagnose, safely operate upon and effectively manage patients with thoracic diseases of the chest.
  • I am in the same boat as many here...I live in Montana where we don't have many surgeons to choose from and I am on Medicaid so I don't know what, if ANY, specialists they would allow me to see for thoracic surgery. I am grateful that so far I DON'T have the major "crushing of my chest" feeling that you describe having Jeanie, but I am in constant pain and living on narcotics and a TENS unit for some kind of relief. I just had neck surgery this past October and that went well but with DDD, the neurosurgeons say I will eventually have major amounts of fusions to hold this old crumbling spine together. Sure not looking forward to thoracic surgery though, that's for sure! Good luck everyone,
