Hello all.Thank's for this Forum.
Here is my story.
Just looking for how other pt's have dealt with there surgery and recovery.it's been week's since my surgery.
I had surgery from T9-L5 PSF(Posterior Spinal Fusion) w/PSO (Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy L3)
Of coarse I had to copy that offof my surgery order's LOL
It was a 8hr surgery with 2 spine doc's,and they did 7 level's.
I won't say it was an easy surgery, when I woke up in I.C.U. I felt like they put 2 sledge hammer's instaead of titaium rod's on each side of my spine.I remember thrashing like a crazy woman, and yelled out for pain control.
after 2 day's of ICU they sent me to a ortho floor for therapy and get off my pain pump, and ext I was hooked to.
then I was told I had to spend 6wk's in rehab,a nursing home,I aksed the scial worker if I could go home with V.N.A and Therapy coming in to care for me.
Anyone that has been thru this I feel for you,and kind of spine surgery is painfull, this was my 3rd one, this one was the worse of them.
Now I am on my own,I use a wheel walker, because of no bending,no driving, and all the other stuff.
Here it is Christmas and I am sitting here, wondering how many other's are going thru the same thing??
I am off to look for some more info,if u have any suggestion's I am open to them, and thanks for having this site, for us who need info and how other's cope with this.
