I recognize your name from a year ago when I just started looking at this site. How are you doing now after your surgery?

  • Thank you so much for asking! I'm doing pretty good except for the awful muscle spasms. I'm going back to the surgeon next week and hopefully he will order a new MRI to make certain the fusion "took." I do really well unless I try to do almost anything (like cook dinner) and then have to go lay down on this big ice pack.

Hey, at least I can walk (although only for a short time).

I've been going to PT for the past 6 months...she does the myofascial release technique and I feel really well for about 2 days. I'm supposed to have "dry needling" done next week and we'll see how that does.

    How are you doing?
  • Happy things are better for you. That's great that you can walk and at least have less pain sitting down. Is your nerve pain gone? At present I'm not doing that well. Still have terrible nerve pain. In fact more than pre- surgery and it's not going away. Oh well, gotta keep moving along and hope for the best. Did you have your fusion checked before with either ct or mri?
  • No, the fusion has not been checked with ct or mri since it was done. An xray showed "cloudy" areas that the surgeon said would be the beginning of fusion. That was done 6 months and 12 months post surgery.

It's really funny...I haven't been to therapy for over a week and my back is feeling better. Happens each time I call and make an appointment with the surgeon!!

So...what else are they going to do for you? I really don't have nerve pain anymore. I still have numbness in some of my toes, but no pain.
  • Going to see my family doc tommorrow for results of ct scan. Hope to hear from surgeon also.
