Howdy fellow Neckies....
When I had my first fusion, I had a funky voice for like a week or so. After my last fusion I had a funky voice for about 3 weeks, then "normal" from there. Well, I am just moving into month 6 post op from the C6/7 fusion, and in the last week and a half to two weeks, I am suddenly losing my voice 4-6 times a day! No pain associated with it - which I think is odd. Most times my voice goes really horse like I have a cold, and 2 out of 10 times, high pitched and squeaky sounding.
Is this something I should be worried about? I haven't noticed if it comes after specific neck positions or not. I just know that it happens whether I have been speaking a lot (like from teaching a class), or saying nothing much for hours - nothing seems consistent! Anyone else gone through this, and if so, what was the cause? Am I looking at something permanent, or just a late stage thing? Thanks all.
