Tingling Ear after C5-C3

In August of 2009, I had anterior cervical discetomy and fusion (C5-3) to relieve tingling, numbness in left hand.

I've been free of symptoms until about a month ago.
Now I'm having tingling in left shoulder and RIGHT ear.

Has anybody had similar symptoms ?

  • you need to talk to your surgeon regarding these new symptoms. most of mine were going away 6 months after surgery. its possible something new has happened.

Thanks for your reply. I have an appt with the neurosurgeon on Feb 26
  • I never had neck surgery, but crashed a mountainbike, fractured C7, T3,T4,T5 and my collarbone.
Lot of things done between then and now, but in a nutshell. I have had shoulder and upper arm pain since then.

They have never figured out what I damaged or where the problem is. I now have a spinal cord stimulator.
Normally I just have the shoulder upper arm pain.

From time to time I will get pain and tingling from the outside corner of my right eye to the tip of my ear and down the side of the neck too.

I had a new one last week that perplexed me but thankfully lasted only a day. My middle finger on that side felt like I had smacked it with a hammer! Not the normal pain I have elsewhere, this was an acute pain. I hope that pain just stays away!

Referred nerve pain can take on many forms and can change from time to time. I have kind of had it with the whole doctor thing, so I usually cross my fingers and hope the pain will go away when I get the extra pain, so far it has. I also know, sometimes I bring it on myself by doing too much.
