Headaches after 2 level cervical fusion

I had a 2 level fusion c-5/c-6 and c-6/c-7 in early November. The pain in my arm and shoulder have gone but now I am getting headaches almost every day stemming from the neck upwards. Is this normal to experience this type of result? In my pre-surgical MRI it showed all but the top disk to be herniated but the only ones they fixed were the bottom 2. Could this new pain be a result of further herniation to the other disks? I have a follow-up in late March.

Could it be coming from neck muscle tension?. I found that many of my neck muscles (in the back and on the sides to the shoulders) were often very stiff after my ACDF I needed a combination of muscle relaxants, heating pad, and actual massage (hubby did some and I also asked for referral to PT for some light massage).
