Saw Dr. Monday for 3 1/2 week follow-up. (Tomorrow will be 4 weeks) I will return to work on Monday the 15th. I am a 9-1-1 dispatcher so do no manual labor, all mental. Fortunately I never experienced any hoarseness or difficulty speaking! I feel pretty good, still some pain across shoulders which Dr associates with now being a little taller and all musculature adjusting to the new dynamics. Still have some numbness and tingling in left arm and hand but Dr says that will be the last thing to clear-up and should be much better at next appt on April 19. I will have x-rays prior to that visit and we will discuss the fusion process.

  • Good to hear everything went well with your surgery. Are you able to get back to work so early? You'll be turning your head a lot while at work hope you're able to get up and take breaks often. Best wishes for your recovery. Take care. Charry

  • Do take it easy when you go back to work - can you ease into it, half-time or so for the first few weeks? It might help. Going back to work is challenging.

But - it does sound like everything is going very well - so big congrats and keep it up :)
  • Congrats on doing so well already. It seems amazing to me that you are going back to work already. I have always admired the people that are 911 dispatchers. It is a very important job and one that has so much reposibility. It is great to hear the wonderful stories of your job. Take care, and take it easy! Robin
