Anyone tried Savella?

My doctor gave me a 2-week Titration Pack of this today. I don't have fibro but have some similar problems. I've read that it's not a very good drug. It also interacts with most of my other meds. I just want to know what experience any of you may have had with it. I haven't decided yet whether or not to try it.

  • HI Sunny :H Have you looked this drug up on drugs.com ? I did but am not sure if I am allowed to post the info here. Seems like a pretty nasty med. If you have not looked it up, please do . So you are aware of some of the side effects & warnings.

I stopped in to read your post & know nothing about this until I went to the website hoping to be of help to you - sorry I can't help :(
L1 - S2 "gone" useless in 1 way or another. DDD. RA. Bone Spurs. Tons of nerve damage/issues. Stenosis. Both knees replaced. 50 yrs old. I had a great fall (hence my user name) at age 41 and it has been a domino effect every since.
  • The prescribing information says it's an SNRI, like Cymbalta or Effexor.
  • I tried Savella last year. It was very effective for me but unfortunately I suffered from some of its side effects. It raised my BP by 20 points and I already have high BP. HappyHBmom is correct in that it is in the same class as Cymbalta. Give it a try but make sure you monitor yourself for side effects. You never know, it may help you.

I'm considering giving it a try. I have read about some bad side effects but also some good. I read that it has a major interaction with Wellbutrin & Tramadol that I take daily. I also read where a consumer advocacy group recommended it be recalled in January. I'm all for trying whatever the doctor recommends but don't want to end up worse off than I am.
Hope you're all having a good day.
