Neck pain

So, I have had 2 discectomies with spinal fusions. My first one was 10/07 and the second one was 5/09. I have never fully recovered from the first surgery. I had an xray and it showed DDD. Now I am waiting for another MRI bcuz my doctor suspects another disc rupture. He said that my chance of recovering from another surgery is very low. I have tried injections, and nerve burning several times. Nothing has worked. I guess my question is.....has anyone had to have multiple neck surgeries and did it work. Is there any other procedure out there that has worked? Also, have you been told that you will never be pain free? Let me just add that I am only 36 and I dont want to just deal with being in pain all the time.

  • Hi Mardrew,First of all welcome to Spinehealth, this site has helped me tremendously and I hope it can do the same for you.
I've had 3 neck surgeries over the past 15-20 yrs,my last one was in Oct 08.I'm no better, probably worse, than before my first. But everyone is different and things could turn out great for you.
I do not regret having my surgeries at all,who knows how I would feel if I didn't.
Its a lot of very helpful and friendly people here, that know a lot more and can help you a lot more than I can.
Don't give up and stay positive about things.I'm sure someone will come along and be able to help you more.
    Be kind to yourself,Mark
