I hope you are all in good health.
First of all, like any intelligent being, I am well aware that there can be no playing doctor over the wire.
Unfortunately, I am in a 3rd world country (Dubai) where doctors are in trading business rather than healing, so any opinions might be appreciated.
My job is computers. Doing it almost 20 years. I am 36. I am also a professional table tennis player.
Last 2 years I had pain in my tendons (lower arm). Being a computer user (10 hours a day) and tt player (3 hours a day), I attributed it to tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), didn't see a doctor. Treatment is usually rest. It would pain when I typed or clicked mouse, so refraining from these helped. I had it occasionally on and off. But no pain last 1 year. I stopped sports last 2 years due to this condition.
Last 4-5 months I have weaknesses in both hands. For example, I have difficulty opening the cap of a bottle of water. I have seen a doc, and he said cervical radiculopathy - parathesis. I had MRI and CT Scans taken.
The doctor saw the MRI for 5 mins and advised a surgery. Told me about disk or something, he wasn't even speaking proper english. He wasn't helpful and I did not trust him.
So I went to a government hospital (where at least they don't do it for trading since they are salaried employees). The neurosurgeon there was not helpful at all, he referred me to a neurologist and asked me to see him after 3 months when I have another MRI taken (apparently that MRI was not clear enough). I am claustrophobic, this MRI is stressing hte living daylights out of me. The first one took 2 weeks of stress and 3 different radiology centers to do. I could barely do it on an openMRI machine let alone the coffin ones. Why would they do an MRI if it is not proper???
So I went to another neurosurgeon. He also said MRI is not good quality and I'd need another one. He checked reflexes, functions, etc and he said all is fine.
Gave me some NSAIDs, still no improvement or worsening in my situation.
I don't want to do another MRI and I would not go through surgery.
Nobody offered any phsyiotheraphy. Would that help?
Can someone well-versed with these reports try to explain at least what it says and what I have?Cervical CT ScanCervical MRI
Thanks so much for your time!
