If the Dr. you are seeing is no longer meeting your needs, how do you begin to "shop" for a new Dr.?
If your circle of family/friends doesn't knows of a Dr. who treats pain with narcotics, where do you begin?
Please do not blast me with "you should not be drug seeking" posts. It is and it is not drug seeking.
When you know what works for you and have for some time, but your Dr. tells you that she is no longer going to be treating pain patients - where do you turn?
Surely you can't just call Drs and say "this is my problem and I am use to treating it with XYZ, do you treat pain with these meds"???? /:)
If you make an appt. with Drs. and find out they do not treat with anything you know will help you and you "shop" around, isn't that going to look like drug seeking in a negative way?
Current Dr. will only refer her patients to said spinal pain clinic, as she has changed her mind about how back pain should be treated and no longer believes in narcotic's.
The pain clinic around here ONLY does injections - no ifs, ands or buts.
Current Dr. was my primary Dr. and other then the surgeons I have seen ( surgery is not a option ) she has been the sole Dr. caring for me.
So I am way out on a limb alone and clueless how to start over :??
L1 - S2 "gone" useless in 1 way or another. DDD. RA. Bone Spurs. Tons of nerve damage/issues. Stenosis. Both knees replaced. 50 yrs old. I had a great fall (hence my user name) at age 41 and it has been a domino effect every since.
