dont spend your money if you dont have to. if you need something that will make your life more liveable or any prescriptions, make sure you call your doctors office first and ask for it. they write a prescription and ask them to submit to ins. carrier mine is work comp may take a couple of days to get approved but sometimes worth the wait. i got my walker, cane, toilet seat riser, and a home pharmacy. all thru work comp. thats why we have ins. and they are responsible for you.i also got doctor to sign for a temporary handicapped parking permit which i dont use unless trully need to but it does come in handy.only thing i have paid for was the grabber and that was money well spent anyway. best wishes to everyone

  • Jim you got it exactly right. Often if we have time to get the approvals we can save alot of money. That's why those surgery must have sticky notes are so important. If you have time before surgery you need to speak to your insurance company about what they will pay for. Often they will get the items for you because they contract with companies and get it cheaper.

Also speak with your doctors staff. If they have a surgery scheduler they will often help with all the appointments. Don't be afraid to ask them for suggestions.
