Pain still here.. Broke down and agreed to epidural for scar tissue.

Had MRI w contrast.. Ton of scar tissue and to top it off.. Dr told me today, there is a large disc fragment under my S1 nerve.

Doesn't think that is what is cauing pain, thinks my L5S1 disc is coming apart.

Next step if epidurals don't work.. ALIF.

So tired of being in pain.. questioing all of it and just bummed out

  • So sorry to hear you are having a hard time! Thankfully you were able to have an MRI with issues identified and have a plan of action.

Hopefully the injections will help. I have had them many times~and for me, they were such a blessing!

Hang in there! Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted! xxxxx Shari
  • Had my shots today.. fingers crossed.

Dr. said I had a lot of resistance pushing the needles into the foraminal cavities = scar tissue.

    Thanks for the kind words..
  • Michael,

I'm so sorry to hear. But I'm hopeful the the injections work. I do know they may hurt before they help and I also know it may take more than 1. It seems like your doctor has some hope the injections will take just enough off the nerve to relieve some pain.

The thing is..even 2mm can make all the difference.

I sent you a few PM's. Hang in there!
  • Thanks.. disc fragment under S1 Nerve is 5-6mm..
