Life in the fast lane...

It's been 18 months since my fusion and I am amazed at the difference from a few months ago and especially a year ago. I never thought I'd be able to get this far! As we know, there will always be things we can't do and I'll probably have nerve damage and pain but it's better and tolerable.I'm living more than just existing as each month passes. So don't give up my friends, keep reaching!

Also, just wanted to share that my husband's back is better since his epidurals. If he'd behave he would probably be even better! But we're thankful his pain is down!

Our son that is in the Navy was just home for 13 days leave! We actually had our family together for a holiday/Easter! We had a wonderful time spending time together! We miss him already but he might be in Pensacola for training later this year so we might be lucky enough to see him again soon!

I am happy to report that my dad came through his fusion surgery(L5-S1)much better than I expected (4/7) and is recovering remarkably well! I'm really impressed! He's had minimal pain, up and about, now the hard part is reminding him of his restrictions and not to do too much!

Well, just kind of wanted to share some good news. Thanks for always being here through the good times and rough patches!

I hope you are all having a good week end with minimal or no pain!

  • Thank you for posting. I'm 5 months out from my fusion and I still have days where I'm all hunched over and hurt like crazy. It's usually after a good day when I do laundry, clean the kithen then talk with my friend on the phone (I tend to pace when I'm on the phone) and I think those put me down the next day.

So it's really, really nice to hear that it does get better. It's hard to belive that 5 months out from surgery is still early, but in our spiney world, it's but a moment of time in recovery.

Thanks again and congratulations on getting your life back. Don't forget that you still need to take care of yourself and probably always will, but I'm very happy for you.

  • Great to hear about you and your fusion surgery. I hope you heal completely. As well as your Father also and great your husband is doing well after the ESI's. Glad your son was there for you. Take care. Charry
