After a successful trial 3 weeks ago I am finally getting my perm SCS on monday. I am excited to say the least. The trial was fantastic, I actually was able to walk without pain. That alone was enough to sell me on the perm SCS. It did reduce my pain levels, however, I did have to take pain meds while doing the trial and realize that I will continue to have to use meds with the perm one as well.
I am a little concerned about the placement of the unit, and have severeal questions about how the recvery goes after the surgery. I will be having this done as an outpatient, hoping to be able to be on my feet and mobile soon after the surgery. What is the normal recovery time? Will I be able to do things around the house such as sit with family or even cook within the first few days following this type of surgery?
I have a 2 year old granddaughter living with me and she and I love to play together, I know I won't be able to pick her up but can I still have her sit on my lap and watch tv with me at least?
Thank you all for any reponses and know that I have found all the post here to be very informative and so very helpful thus far.
