Um, so I started going to this new therapist, and no I am not doing that great (obviously). I have been on Cymbalta for several years and would like to switch to the new med, Savella.

Anyone done a switch? How do the two compare?

  • Hi Happy,

I was on Cymbalta for a 3 week trial period and didn't think it was working until I stopped taking it then I realized it did help some.

I start on a 5 week trial period of Savella tonight. My doctor said to try them both and decide which one works better for me. I had to stay off the Cymbalta for one week before I could start the Savella. Can't tell you anything for now but hope to soon.

  • That's an interesting method- what type of doctor is this? Most doctors will say that you need much longer to assess the benefit of these types of meds!
  • My PM doctor sent me to an arthritis doctor and he said prescribing one of these medicines is about the only help he could give me. Assuming any of the meds will even help.
