I got approved for SSDI last week and I am happy and sad, happy I got approved on the first try but sad that I now know I won't ever be working again.
I had two neck surgeries, the first one 12-8-08 from the front C4-7 with cage, plate and 8 screws, the plate came loose and did not fuse so on 12-2-09 they went through the back of my neck c4-7 and installed my hip bone graft, rods and screws. This did me in, the pain got worse after each surgery, I am on a pain patch and med's and go to a chronic pain class each week.

  • I'm so glad for you. I was approved on the 1st try & it took about 60 days - I was so worried & cannot fathom what others have to go thru waiting for years.

That is such good news, I'm so glad for you. susie
  • Good for you Rick. I can understand the bummer aspect. But, just thank God, Buddha, the Dalai Lama or the tree outside, you didn't have to go through the appeal process.

    Best Wishes..
  • I remember when I received my approval. I had the same feelings you are talking about. I'm sure you'll move on to acceptance soon. I look at taking care of myself as my new job.

    Best wishes,
