Hi All....I had the open MRI done yesterday and it went very well. Theres no way I could ever do a closed one. Anyway, I looked at the films and there is a pretty large herniation at L5-S1 and also right above it there is a smaller one. I go back to the doctor next month, so I will no more as to what he wants to recommend. I just hope he doesnt say surgery.

  • I also could never do closed MRI. Not even sure if they do that many anymore with all the advances in the machines.

Next week I have to have a cervical and thoracic MRI with and without contrast. My guess is it will be 2-3 hours total. This time I'm thinking about asking for some xanax.
  • Wow, I couldnt have anything injected into me. I hate needles like you wouldnt believe. I hope it all goes well for you. I will keep you all posted.
